Classroom in a Virtual World

While McDaniel doesn’t currently offer a advertising and graphic design course, I believe it would be a rather interesting class to explore within a virtual world. This class could be setup in a virtual world such as Second Life, where students could learn to make various clothing for avatars and could construct marketing posters for all to view. Utilizing a virtual world would allow students to break the conventional learning style of other advertising classes and give them the freedom to learn how to effectivley advertise in an unfamiliar world. The students would be able to create at all times in thi virtual classroom and would allow them to converse with students of other countries to get their input on marketing techniques. Marketing internationally varies from that which is done within the states. This communication between students all over the world would enable students to attain a broader marketing background that they could then apply to real world advertising.
